His guitar work on The Blues at the 2002 shows is probably THE highlight of his career. Really fucked up that it did not make it onto the album. I hope a studio polished version of that track surfaces someday. He compliments Bucket very well on There Was A Time, and shows that the two did indeed have a chemistry even though they are light years apart talent wise. I think Bucket can bring out the best in Finck, and I hope the two collaborate again at some point. Also find it interesting that the solo on If the World sounds a bit Finckish, yet Bucket is the one doing it. Finck probably couldn't nail it like it needed to be nailed, so Bucket outfincked him for the track. 90% of forum users thought it was Finck when it leaked, but us Buckethead fanatics knew it was Bucket. Even though Bucket was doing it in a slightly similar tone, it had that Bucket stamp on it. Also love his work on the title track. Helps give it the attitude that the song has.

Finck is an anomaly on this record. Great in certain areas, good in certain areas, and horrific in others. That This I Love solo is one of the worst, abrasive solos I have ever heard in my life, and its obvious that the only reason he got it is because Axl said Finck lobbied hard for the track to be on the album years ago. It kills the song, and without a massive radio edit, the song has no chance of ever being a single. If I had produced the record, I would have made Finck hibernate in the studio for a week until he nailed that solo. That solo isn't even worthy of a demo, and NEVER should have made it to the final product.

I used to dislike the This I Love solo, remember?  But I have come to love it, actually TIL is one of the few 'new' songs I really dig... I reckon the guitar parts are abrasive but I also think they fit pretty well with the song.
I still believe Scraped is one of the worst tracks,  :hihihi:

If any song shows that what he has left in the vault is not impressive, Scraped making the album is proof. Never should have been on the album, and I would have preferred a shorter album with a few tracks missing.

It was a leaks album with three bonus tracks. Choosing Scraped out of what he has left is not a good sign. I rarely listen to the album anymore, and when I do, that song gets skipped.

I too tend to do selective listening and CD, SOD, TWAT, Catcher, Sorry,TIL & Prostitute are the only tracks that don't get skipped.
Most people like Better but I find it annoying after a while, fi, whenever I'm driving my car, I give a listen to the whole album first & then I do selective listening because I really don't wanna hear Better again,  :2funny:

On topic/ I thought I had named a few solos last week, Anyway, here they are:

- This I Love
- Patience
- There Was a Time
- Street of Dreams (or the Blues,  :sto:)
- God Saves The Queen ( Wembley arena 2006).
