This emptiness makes me wanna die

« on: September 15, 2009, 08:33:36 am »

Since at least 1 person is to get a tattoo in the honor of Mr Robin Finck, I thought I'd ask the question.

I am looking into getting "and i will love." tattooed on my left ribs. It seems only fitting to honor a quote that's resonated with me for years now.

I've never been into "text" tattoos, but I'd definitely get something related to Robin. I've spent ages working on fan sites, videos, avatars, art... therefore it would be kind of logical to get a tattoo. I already have 4, none of them related to him. I find it kind of hard to find something great, though. As I said, I don't go for text. I don't go for portraits either because I think a vast majority of inked faces look fugly. :lipssealed: So yeah, I'd definitely get a tattoo somehow related to Robin but I can't think of anything. The perfect tattoo would be something not too obviously related to Finck. Also it would have to be something unique. I don't like the idea of other people having the very same tattoo.
*Starts to think she should send a request to Mr F. himself.*

Anyways, here's the question: would you get a tattoo because of Robin?
We all know he doesn't have any, but as a fan would you want something related to Robin on your skin? If so, what kind of thing would you get inked?

I would probably consider getting some of his artwork inked if I saw something that really, really, really caught my eye.

Oopsie, I just added to the convo on the other thread  :lipssealed: Oh well!

I'm not usually into text-only tattoos either (though text is incorporated into the other piece I've been talking to my artist about), but the particular quote that I want a section of inked on me has been just so powerful and it doesn't lose its wisdom and personal meaning no matter how many times I read it. So I'm gonna go for it. :D

(Finck Ink has a nice ring to it, don't you think?  :hihihi: )

My Finck fandom started when I was 14 years old and is still very much a part of my life.   No individual has ever inspired me more or taught me so many things about how I want to live.  I admire, adore, and envy him.  I can't think of a better reason to get a tattoo.

But of course, that leaves the question... at tattoo of what?  Until then, I'm not marking my body. No way!

I will be getting my Finck Ink one week from today. Excited but nervous- it'll be my second tattoo, but the one I have is on my upper back- this one'll go on my ribs. Supposed to be a painful spot. Will post pictures when it's done, of course!

My Finck Ink is done!! I took a really crappy photo but I'd rather wait until it's cleaned up and unwrapped to take a good photo to post it here. It's perfect! Pictures late tonight or tomorrow :)

That's a bad picture, trust me, it looks even more awesome in person! :D

It was pretty painful but nothing unbearable. At times it felt like I was being sliced open because the pain went through my entire ribs, but I was fine. I just kinda focused on breathing and it was over quick! :)

It wasn't bad! I'd do it again. You'll be fine!  :hihihi:

*EDIT* Aaaand thar she blows!

Obviously it's fresh in this picture- about 8 hours old after the first shower. I'll keep you guys updated on the healing and get some more pictures when it looks nicer. :)

It's in my own handwriting. Obviously, it's a section of a quote of Robin's from the call&response section of his old website that has meant a lot to me.
